Keeping In Mind Extra Maintenance Checks

We should be taking more care over our homes these days.  Global warming is now a feature and the increasingly violent weather of the last few years is going to remain.   This impacts on houses by way of perhaps loosening and lifting off roof tiles or gusting up under the soffits and fascias and working loose the gutter brackets.   All houses need regular inspections – winter is a good time, you can see when the damage is actually occuring.  Keeping on top of the maintenance or employing a contractor to do just that is a critical matter not to be overlooked.  Our insurance policies will not pay out if there has been neglect in the maintenance of the very property we’re paying out to protect.   Many policies try to exclude storm damage and this is a difficult area.  It’s always better to ensure the home has some protection from possible flooding if in a low ling area, ensuring adequate supply of sand bags and other means of holding back the flow.
