Keeping Those Gutters Clear Safely and Effectively

Keeping Those Gutters Clear Safely and Effectively

Ahh the picture before us of sweet little tete-a-tete daffodils always conjurs up the thought of Easter.  Fantastic change in our moods and approach to leisure time seems to take us by surprise.  The major thing we need to think about once the more ghastly winter woes have gone is property maintenance.  Do the gutters need clearing – the thought of all that moss and winter debris clogging the downpipes alarms me . . .  how will the rainwater get down to the many rainwater butts I have dotted around?!   Of course a chap with a ladder and brook can make a good job of it but these days with health & safety concerns as they are, it is not advisable for anyone who is not a trained and experienced gutter cleaner to even attempt this.   Even roofing contractors have to  use specialist scaffolding to allow safe access to the roof and gutter contractors tend to avoid this complication by employing very high power water hoses to flush all the deberis off the roof, down onto the lawn, rather than down the drain pipes.
