Willing Decorator Earns His Stripes

There comes a time in the life of every house when the maintenance man has to be brought in. My house now needs more than a simple brush over with the gloss or silk emulsion.  I asked around for ideas on good decorating companies and so many were already fully booked for the season.  In the end I signed on with the trade checking sites so that at least anyone who picked up my enquiry would checked and verified.  Most of my upper doorways needed to have just a good sanding down and full repaint job but there were one or two reflecting the rather hard life I put them through.  I have this tendency to hang coat hangers over the tops of doors and then push shut the door – this causes the hanger to cut into the frame, leaving unsightly dents.   Not a good look for a top notch family house!  So I engaged a young decorator who is willingly addressing the problems as he finds them on the basis that his quote was for straight forward prepping and painting; any further work extending the quoted time slot is paid for at his hourly rate.
