Spring Time Nest Building Takes Centre Stage

There really is something fantastic about the advent of spring every year.    Those early sunny mornings that gradually warm the soul and the soil . . .  the poking of little green shoots and bulb heads through what  had been rock hard frozen clay.  Birds flapping around in a frenzy to collect up as much nesting materials as they can grab are fascinating to watch.  This nest building never varies – every bit of dry grass and twig is grabbed to make it capable of  holding several eggs and the weight of the sitting bird for however long is needed.  No midwives or maternity delivery suite!  If only getting our own nesting boxes was that simple – but for the soon to be parents, that truly thrilling preparation time leading up to baby’s arrival is also filled with making sure the nursery is spotless, filled with every ‘must have’ and decorated to the very best degree.   Easy to clean surfaces are a must, and special nursury paint with nothing dangerous in its manufacture.  So many things to take into account!
